El Presidente ~ Stanley Smith
Stanley Smith has been an active real estate developer for the past twenty years, concentrating on the neighborhoods of Mt. Airy, West Oak Lane, and Germantown in the northwest section of Philadelphia. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, finishing high school at Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, graduating in 1979. Stan graduated with a B.S. degree from The University of Massachusetts in 1983.
During his first ten years in real estate development, Stan concentrated on residential properties primarily for first time home buyers. During that time he purchased, renovated and sold more than 150 homes in Philadelphia. Over the next five years, he accumulated a portfolio of six multi-family, garden style apartment buildings, ranging in size from 11 to 42 units, and managed around 150 units.
More recently, Stan's primary focus has been on the development, renovation, and management of more than 250,000 square feet of professional office and retail space throughout Philadelphia. All renovations, construction and management have been performed by his minority owned company – SmithHouston Inc. (www.smithhouston.com). Stan focuses on customizing and fitting out professional office space for non-profit organizations. Besides office space tenants, he has customized and developed space from retail to large day care needs or specialized schools.
Stan is deeply committed to strengthening the community through economic development. Stan is a primary partner in Philly Office Retail (www.PhillyOfficeRetail.com). Philly Office Retail is a Philadelphia real estate group that specializes in providing non-profit office space and retail space. Stan and his partners have successfully worked with a number of non-profit groups in the Philadelphia area to help find and fit out their ideal space.
In an effort to better meet his customer’s needs Stan has engaged in his newest adventure of providing an Executive Suites Office Center right in the heart of Germantown. The Executive Suites at the Flying Horse Center will provide his members and the community an upscale professional office setting with ambiance that rivals any of the downtown office buildings.

Suite Manager VP of Sales ~ Catherine Twardy
Catherine Twardy joined the Executive Suites at the Flying Horse Center in mid 2010. She has been involved from the development stages and is part of the foundation of the Executive Suites at Flying Horse Center. As the Suite Manager VP of Sales, Catherine will be responsible for ensuring the member’s needs are met with quality and professional care.
From 1989 to 1990, Ms. Twardy worked for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas as a Probation Officer. In 1990, Ms. Twardy was promoted to Court Administrative Officer with the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas where she provided oversight for various grant projects awarded to the probations department. After 10 years of services with the Philadelphia Courts, Ms. Twardy became the Program Director of a program for troubled youth in 1999.
Throughout the years Ms. Twardy has developed a working knowledge of balancing the many tasks required of operating a quality program. Ms. Twardy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice for West Chester University.
Marketing and Onsite IT Specialist ~ Marianne O’Connell
Marianne is a self-taught in information technology, and grew her IT skills after working for 11 years at Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals in Collegeville, PA. At Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, she was production assistant, bill coordinator and worked in the graphic communications department. Marianne left Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Pharmaceuticals in 1997 to further her knowledge in IT; she joined DTB Communications in Jenkintown, PA, where she worked for 2 years until joining SmithHouston Inc. a developer construction and management arm to PhillyOfficeRetail.com; in 2006.
As her skills and knowledge of IT became apparent, Marianne’s role grew from Assistant to the Project Manager to Marketing and Onsite IT Specialist. As our onsite IT Specialist Marianne is responsible for networking, installing, and trouble shooting all network hardware and software issues. She is proficient in: LAN Networking System; Windows 98, XP and 7; Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, Net Objects Fusion.
Marianne also manages the marketing at SmithHouston Inc., PhillyOfficeRetail.com and other related development company to the above mentioned. Her marketing responsibilities include everything from web design and development to design and purchase of all promotional items. Marianne installed and oversees the software for security cameras throughout SmithHouston’s properties. In addition to all her other duties Marianne is also involved in the processing of payroll.
Marianne graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, PA.
